Scott Catlin Profile:
As a Professional with 20 years experience, Scott has made it his life’s work, searching for the ingredients that will set each golfer he teaches on the road to golfing excellence.
Qualified from working 4 years at Westerwood as an Assistant Golf Professional. At the age of 24, he was a fully qualified Golf Professional. Since then he have always continued to improve his coaching and knowledge of the game by having attending coaching seminars. From there he was the Teaching Professional at Parque Da Floresta in the Algarve, Portugal for 3 years and then had 11½ years working as a Club Professional.
Scott saya “I have always strived to keep myself updated with the most current ways of delivering golf coaching, understanding what the top players really do with their swings, why they are so consistent with striking the ball and accuracy, my pupils really are changing for the better and enjoying being part of a like minded group who can’t wait to get on the golf course!
My experiences in teaching all styles of golfers has shown me there is not one swing that suits every golfer, with this in mind I can adjust my teaching skills to whatever swing and standard the golfer has and give the enjoyment to the golfer during the lesson, either on the practice range or on the golf course.”
James Smallwood Profile:
James Smallwood has been a PGA Professional since 1992, after training at clubs such as Irvine Golf Club, Kilmarnock ( Barassie ) Golf Club and Fereneze Golf Club. On completion of his training James was appointed Head PGA professional at Fereneze G.C, a position he filled for seven years.
James joined Affordable Golf in February 2012 bringing a wealth of experience and was involved in the opening of the new Glasgow facility.
James utilises the latest technology to monitor and analyse, this data is then used within a simple yet effective coaching philosophy which has a proven record of improving results.

We are very proud to say that once our students walk the door from the first time, the vast majority keep coming back to build an all-round better game. Don’t just listen to what we tell you about our experienced staff or state-of-the-art technology, read what our customers have to say about us in their own words
“Following my lesson, just a bit of feedback . I am really happy with the tuition given, when I have had lessons in the past I was given too many things to work on, the changes Andy suggested worked well and the technology was brilliant in bringing the changes needed to life. I would definitely return for further lessons and recommend to friends. Staff in the shop friendly too.”
“Thanks very much for the lesson as it certainly showed that by videoing my swing, I still have a bit of work to do. Nevertheless, your lesson did pay dividends as I went out the next Saturday and won the second class Monthly Medal, hereby reducing my handicap by 1.2 down to 14.5. So thanks very much for that.
The secret now obviously its to take all of your tips on board every week, and try to be a bit more consistent with my set up for both tee shots and iron play.
Once again thanks very much, and I will not hesitate in recommending yourself to any of my friends, if they need any help with their game.
All the best”
“Further to me and my sons golf lesson on Monday 18th July I would would just like to say that we both thoroughly enjoyed it and there was two main reasons for this, from the very start we were both put at ease and felt very relaxed with the informal way of coaching and secondly Andy has a an excellent way of getting his point over and explaining things through his various ‘gadgets’ which helped big time, the proof of the pudding was that when my wife came home she found Ross and I out the back garden barefooted and throwing a small football to each other.

“Had my first ever golf lesson on Friday with Andy and really enjoyed it.He was able to point out faults in my stance and swing and I’m now desperate to get on the course and put his tips into practice. I’ve another lesson booked for later in the month and I’m really looking forward to it.”
- J. Traynor
“I attended a golf lesson last week which my daughter bought for me over the internet for £85.00. I thought this was rather overpriced, however, now knowing Andy’s rates I would not hesitate to go back. I thought that Andy could not have been more helpful. He obviously has a depth of knowledge and his instructions were very straightforward and clear.
All in all though, a very good service.”
- F McAleney
I just had my golf lesson on Fri 16th in EK with one of your coaches, Andy was a massive help and he gave me some brilliant tips, which I am utilising on golf course, had 2 games already on course and starting to see big improvement, Andy brought fun to the lesson, and I would certainly recommend Andy to anyone looking for a lesson, in the eternal words of big Arnie….. I`ll be back”
